Coolwaves Microwaves — fat and cellulite reduction, plus skin firming
Onda Coolwaves is a unique technology using Coolwaves microwave energy with skin cooling. Working on 3 levels — fatty tissue, cellulite and skin — the waves quickly and effectively slim the abdomen and waist, reduce thigh circumference, target outer thighs, contour the arms and back, and firm the skin while smoothing cellulite. Even a single session brings a visible effect.

Coolwaves Microwave Technology
The technology built into the Onda device uses unique Coolwaves microwaves that selectively reach fatty tissue and reduce it non-invasively. Coolwaves act precisely on fat cells without affecting the surrounding tissue, safely and comfortably for the patient. The waves work on 3 levels: on fatty tissue (breaking down and removing cells through the body's natural metabolic processes), on cellulite (the shallow handpiece breaks down fibrous bands) and on the skin (contracting collagen fibres and stimulating new collagen).
2 treatment handpieces
Shallow-action handpiece — for skin firming and treating shallow cellulite: concentrated waves warm the dermis, collagen fibres contract, giving immediate skin tightening and breaking down subcutaneous fibrous bands. Deep-action handpiece — for reducing fatty tissue and deep cellulite: around 80% of the 2.45 GHz wave energy concentrates in fatty tissue, heating it and triggering lipolysis — permanent damage to fat cells, which are then removed through the body's natural metabolic processes.

Onda Coolwaves is one of our most popular body-contouring treatments — we tailor the therapy individually to the area and goal.

One technology, triple effect
Fatty tissue
The microwaves act deeply and precisely on fat-cell membranes, breaking them down and removing them from the body through natural metabolic processes.
Cellulite
The shallow-action handpiece effectively breaks down cellulite — both water-based and fibrous.
Skin
The microwaves contract collagen fibres and stimulate new collagen production, resulting in firmer, more youthful-looking skin.
When It's Worth Choosing Onda
What Onda Coolwaves can help with
We use this treatment for 5 indications. It works a little differently for each one — below we explain exactly what it does in each case.
Body contouring
As a standalone device, Onda reduces circumference with Coolwaves microwaves. For overall body contouring it's usually part of a wider programme, since reduction alone — without drainage and firming — gives a narrower result than a layered approach.
02Stubborn fat
Coolwaves microwaves act selectively on fat cells while cooling the epidermis. This is Onda's core application and where it's best justified — for folds that resist diet and exercise.
03Cellulite
The microwaves reach fatty tissue and improve the structure of the connective-tissue septa responsible for uneven skin texture. It works best on fatty cellulite; advanced, fibrous cellulite usually needs support from acoustic wave therapy.
04Skin after weight-loss medication
Here, Onda usually isn't the first choice. After rapid weight loss the main issue is typically skin laxity, not excess fat — further reduction can make the skin look even more deflated. We only include it where fatty tissue genuinely remains.
05Body skin laxity
Onda may be considered when skin laxity occurs alongside localised fat deposits. If loose skin is the main concern and there is little fat to treat, we assess whether a treatment such as Maximus or Indiba would be more suitable.

Expert Recommendations
An international panel of experts described the use of the Onda Coolwaves device in treating cellulite and localised fatty tissue.
Hoffmann K et al., Bioengineering 2024;11(12):1249. PubMed →Cellulite Therapy
The study confirms the efficacy of microwave therapy as a non-invasive method for reducing cellulite.
Bennardo L et al., J Clin Med 2022;11(3):515. PubMed →Fat and Skin Tone
A non-invasive microwave system reduces unwanted fatty tissue and improves skin tone — clinical evidence.
Salsi B, Fusco I, J Cosmet Dermatol 2022;21(11):5657–5664. PubMed →The studies above relate to Coolwaves microwave technology; the Hoffmann et al. paper refers directly to the Onda Coolwaves device. The number of sessions and the result depend on the severity of cellulite, the amount of fatty tissue and lifestyle — a full course of treatment gives the best results.
What an Onda Treatment Looks Like
The very first session brings visible results, but depending on the severity of cellulite, a full course of treatment may consist of4 to 6 sessions performed every 2–3 weeks. The session lasts around 45 minutes and requires no downtime.
Consultation and Assessment
Ruling out contraindications and confirming the treatment area and goal.
Shallow Handpiece
Firming loose skin and breaking down shallow cellulite.
Deep Handpiece
Breaking down fat cells and treating deep cellulite.
A Course of 4–6 Sessions
Every 2–3 weeks, until the desired body contour is achieved.
See the Full Procedure
Before the session, a detailed health assessment is carried out to rule out contraindications. The patient then lies down, and a conductive gel is applied to the treatment area to carry the Coolwaves energy deep into the tissue. The first part of the session uses the shallow handpiece (firming loose skin), the second applies the deep waves (breaking down fat cells and treating cellulite). The session is comfortable and safe thanks to the built-in cooling system. Immediately after the session, the fatty tissue becomes soft and loosened. The treatment requires no downtime — patients return to daily activities straight away.
Results: reduction of localised fatty tissue (smaller circumferences), improvement of both water-based and fibrous cellulite, and firmer skin thanks to the waves' effect on collagen and fibroblasts.
Aftercare Advice Onda Coolwaves
Onda Coolwaves requires no downtime — you return to daily activities straight away. A few simple habits help strengthen and prolong the contouring effect.
Hydration
Drink around 1.5–2 litres of water a day for a few days — this supports the lymphatic system in clearing the by-products of fat breakdown.
Movement and Activity
Light activity (such as walking) supports drainage and the contouring effect; follow your specialist's guidance for more intense exercise.
Balanced Diet
Maintaining a calorie balance helps sustain the result and limits fat storage elsewhere.
Skin Reaction
Temporary redness or warmth in the treated area subsides on its own. No downtime.
Stick to the Course
Results build up over the following weeks — a full course of 4–6 sessions gives the best outcome.

Frequently Asked Questions About Onda Coolwaves
Is the Onda Coolwaves treatment painful?
The Onda treatment is comfortable, not painful. Coolwaves microwaves act precisely on fatty tissue, while the built-in cooling system protects the skin. You'll feel warmth during the session; afterwards the tissue feels soft and relaxed, with no downtime — you can return to your daily activities straight away.
How many Onda sessions do I need, and how often?
The first session already gives a visible effect, but a full course is usually 4–6 sessions every 2–3 weeks. The number depends on the severity of cellulite and the amount of fatty tissue. We plan your course at the consultation, ideally with a circumference measurement.
What does Onda Coolwaves treat?
Onda works on three levels at once: it reduces localised fatty tissue, smooths cellulite (both water-based and fibrous) and firms the skin by stimulating collagen. It's a body-contouring treatment for the abdomen, waist, thighs, outer thighs, arms and back.
How does Onda Coolwaves differ from Cooltech cryolipolysis?
Onda uses microwaves that heat and break down fat cells while also firming the skin and smoothing cellulite. Cooltech cryolipolysis freezes fat with cold (-8°C). Onda tends to show results faster and also cares for the skin; Cooltech is often chosen for larger, stubborn fat deposits. We'll help you choose the best method at your consultation.
Does Onda help with cellulite?
Yes. The shallow handpiece breaks down the subcutaneous fibrous bands responsible for shallow cellulite and firms the skin, while the deep handpiece reduces fibrous cellulite together with fatty tissue. Peer-reviewed studies confirm the effectiveness of microwave therapy for cellulite.
Does Onda firm the skin?
Yes. The microwaves contract collagen fibres and stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen, giving immediate tightening and a gradual improvement in skin density and firmness — including after fat reduction.
When will I see results from Onda?
The loosening and softening of fatty tissue can be felt right after the session, while the reduction in circumference and improved firmness build up over the following weeks, as the broken-down fat cells are cleared through the body's natural metabolic processes. The full effect shows after a course of 4–6 sessions.
Is the Onda treatment safe?
Yes. Coolwaves microwaves act selectively on fatty tissue without affecting the surrounding tissue, and the cooling system protects the epidermis. The treatment is non-invasive and requires no downtime. Every visit begins with a consultation to rule out contraindications.
How much does an Onda Coolwaves treatment cost?
The price starts from 700 zł per session and depends on the area and the number of sessions in the course. A course of 4–6 sessions or a contouring programme gives the best results. We'll confirm the full price list and course pricing at your consultation.
Does Onda replace weight loss?
No. Onda reduces localised, stubborn fatty tissue and contours the body, but it isn't a treatment for obesity. The best results come with a balanced diet, good hydration and physical activity, which support the clearance of broken-down fat cells.
Onda or endermology — which should I choose?
Endermology LPG is a mechanical vacuum massage (drainage, firming, cellulite), while Onda uses microwaves to break down fatty tissue and firm the skin. We often combine them in body-contouring programmes — the choice depends on your goal, which we'll define at the consultation.
What are the contraindications for the Onda treatment?
The main contraindications are pregnancy and breastfeeding, a cardiac pacemaker, uncontrolled diabetes, cardiovascular and venous disease, kidney or liver failure, and cancer. We assess every case individually during the health consultation.
