Chest laser hair removal
Chest treatment, with the nipple area priced separately
Chest laser hair removal covers the area from the collarbones to the rib line. A session takes around 25 minutes, and you can combine it with back or abdomen treatment in a package. The nipple area is listed separately on our price list.
What exactly this area covers
The boundary between the torso and neighbouring areas can be confusing, so we agree it before your first session:
Chest
The surface from the collarbones down to the rib line.
Nipple area
Hair around the nipples is a separate, cheaper item — added on request.
The stomach is not included
The stomach and linea alba are separate areas. The popular stomach-torso-underarms package is better value than areas bought separately.
Underarms not included
Underarms are also a separate item.

Why the torso is usually done together with the back
Torso hair in men rarely stops at one surface — it usually covers the chest, shoulders and nape at the same time. Doing them one by one creates a border effect: a smooth chest with hairy shoulders looks worse than the starting point.
Shaving the chest has one more downside few people mention openly: regrowing chest hair prickles through a shirt for the first two days. With the laser that stage never happens, because the hair is not cut — it gradually disappears.
The third reason concerns sport. Swimmers, cyclists and anyone using straps or harnesses shave their torso regularly, and friction from equipment on freshly shaved skin is a straight road to folliculitis.
What to expect during treatment
Position and coverage. Lying on your back. We work in bands from the collarbones down.
Sensation. Moderate over the sternum and ribs, more distinct near the collarbones, where skin sits close to bone.
Shaving
Torso shaved the day before the session. Unlike the back, this area can be shaved yourself.
Agree the boundaries
We agree whether the nipple area is included and where we stop towards the stomach.
Treatment
Work in bands, with cooling, avoiding moles.
Afterwards
Redness for up to a few hours. For 48 hours no sauna, pool or training.
How many sessions and how far apart
At Velvet Skin Clinic we plan a series of 5–8 sessions in this area, every 6–8 weeks.
Torso hair in men is androgen-dependent, so the series can be longer than on female areas of a similar surface. The range is our clinic's protocol.
There is one reason a single session is never enough: the laser only affects follicles in their growth phase (anagen). At any given moment only part of the follicles in an area are in that phase — the rest are in catagen or telogen and do not respond to light. That is why sessions are repeated at intervals, to catch successive groups of follicles as they enter anagen (Natarelli et al., 2023, PMID 36769541).
Which laser for the torso
We do not use one laser for everything. The device for this area is chosen at your consultation, after assessing your skin phototype and the thickness and colour of the hair. For phototypes IV–VI, the choice of wavelength is a matter of safety, not convenience (Lee et al., 2026, PMID 41884758).
Thunder Quanta™
Thick, dark male hair and a large surface — natural conditions for the dual-wavelength laser.
LightSheer Duet™
The HS handpiece on the flat sternum surface, the ChillTip around the nipples and collarbones.
Soprano Ice Platinum
For skin prone to folliculitis.
How much this area costs
The price is the same on all three lasers. Thunder Quanta works at our Śródmieście clinic, Soprano Ice Platinum at Mokotów, LightSheer Duet at both. The longer the series, the lower the price per session. When treating several areas at once, package prices from the full price list apply.

What changes with each session
Laser hair removal works over a series, not from one session to the next — below is what you can realistically see at each stage in this particular area. Results are individual and depend on hair colour and thickness, skin phototype, and hormonal factors.
After 1–2 sessions
Shedding after 7–21 days. On the torso the first change is usually the end of prickly regrowth that irritates through a shirt for two days after shaving.
After 3–4 sessions
Hair on the sternum becomes noticeably sparser; the nipple area usually needs longer. At this point you can see whether adding the shoulders and nape makes sense.
After the full series
The torso stays smooth. If you treat it without the back, this is where the border between areas shows — which is why we usually recommend the package.
How to assess your results
The most useful changes to look for are how much hair grows back between sessions and how often you need to shave. Photos taken immediately before and after a session may look similar, because the treatment area has already been shaved.
On this page we explain how results develop over a course of treatment and share reviews from our patients. Your practitioner will discuss what you can realistically expect for this area during your consultation.

What we watch for on the torso
Below are situations specific to this area. Contraindications common to all laser treatments — photosensitising medication, photosensitive epilepsy, cancer under active treatment, recent procedures in the area — are discussed during your consultation. Complications after laser treatments and how to manage them are described in a 2026 review (Nguyen et al., PMID 41797616).
Frequently asked questions — chest / torso
Does this item include hair around the nipples?
Not automatically — the nipple area is a separate, cheaper item on the price list. We add it on request during the same session, without a separate visit.
Is it worth treating the torso without the back?
If your hair growth stops at the torso — absolutely. If it also covers the shoulders and nape, the torso alone creates a visible border — the back-torso-nape package is then better value.
How many sessions does the chest need?
At our clinic we plan 5–8 sessions at 6–8 week intervals. Torso hair is androgen-dependent, so the series can be longer and maintenance sessions are needed more often.
Will the treatment leave a visible mark?
The redness settles within a few hours and stays under clothing. There is no swelling or bruising.
Can I go back to the gym the next day?
Wait 48 hours. Sweat and friction from equipment irritate the heated follicles — the most common cause of pustules in the days after a session.
Can the laser handle very dense hair?
Yes — density is not an obstacle; what matters is the colour and thickness of the hair. With very dense growth, the first sessions show the most visible difference, because the reduction is proportional.
